Tashkent International Airport is set to witness the construction of a cutting-edge new cargo terminal, poised to revolutionize the airport's cargo handling capabilities. With a staggering throughput capacity of 120,000 tons annually, the new cargo terminal is a strategic move to meet the burgeoning demands of the aviation sector.
According to Uzbekistan Airports Cargo, the cargo complex of Tashkent airport previously consisted of 20 outdated warehouse and administrative buildings built in 1994-2000. Their total throughput capacity was 30 thousand tons per year, while in 2024 the airport handled about 80 thousand tons of cargo and mail.
The new cargo terminal of Tashkent Airport has been officially put into operation! A new cargo terminal with an annual throughput of 120,000 tons has been officially put into operation, and its throughput is four times that of the previous one. The new cargo facilities are equipped with modern equipment and dedicated storage areas.
The airport comprises two terminals: Terminal 2 receives international flights, and Terminal 3 is for domestic traffic. In March 1995, Uzbekistan Airways started flights from Tashkent to New York via Riga.
