Shipping Container Solar Systems in Remote Locations: An
One of the biggest advantages of a shipping container solar system is its mobility. Since containers are standardized and stackable, they can be transported via truck, train, or
EMS communication refers to the exchange of data and instructions between the Energy Management System and various components within a BESS container. The EMS serves as the central intelligence hub, orchestrating the operation of batteries, inverters, monitoring devices, and other subsystems to achieve optimal performance objectives.
An EMS will also coordinate and optimize the operation of solar arrays, electric vehicle chargers, energy storage, and other clean energy assets that may be installed on site — maximizing the use of renewable energy to power loads and enabling additional energy cost saving strategies.
Physically installed on site, the EMS controller is a device that maintains communication with the DERs and collects real-time data on their operation. Data is fed into cloud-based software, which processes information in real time and continually optimizes the DERs based on how much energy is being generated and consumed at the facility.
TLS BESS containers feature advanced grid monitoring and control devices that communicate with the EMS, enabling seamless synchronization with grid operations and providing ancillary services such as frequency regulation and voltage support.
