With the goal to attract new investments while establishing Egypt as an international hub for renewable energy technologies, Huawei is considering relocating some of its support facilities there. Esmat highlighted Egypt's commitment to support Huawei's development with improved services, updated regulations, and strategic partnerships.
Egypt and Huawei improve cooperation on smart grids, clean energy, and AI to transform Egypt's power sector and attract investments. Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Egypt's Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, met with leaders in the Chinese energy technology sector to strengthen partnership with Huawei's Global Digital Energy and Renewables Division.
Huawei has introduced various initiatives in Egypt, including training over 5,000 Egyptian ICT professionals at four different centers and building the first “OpenLab” — an Internet of Things platform — in Cairo. These efforts contribute to Huawei's involvement in Egypt.
